How to Calculate Leveling Time

To estimate how long leveling will take, you need three numbers: levels to gain, XP required per level, and your XP per hour farming rate. Multiply levels × XP per level to get total XP needed, then divide by your hourly rate to get total hours. Divide by your daily playtime to get calendar days.

Finding Your XP Per Hour

Most games display XP earned per session in post-activity summaries or combat logs. Record your XP before and after a 1-hour session and divide the difference by 1. Do this at your primary farming location for the most accurate number. Passive XP sources like rested bonuses, quests, or bonus events can significantly boost this figure.

Non-Flat XP Curves

Many games use exponential XP curves where later levels require far more XP than early ones. This calculator uses a flat "XP per level" assumption — ideal for linear systems. For exponential games, use the XP requirement for the mid-point of your range as the average, or break your leveling into segments and calculate each separately.
