Discount Calculator
Three modes in one — find sale price, calculate discount percentage, or reverse-engineer the original price. Instant results.
What is X% off a price?
e.g. What is 30% off $120?
What % off is this price?
e.g. Was $200, now $150 — what % off?
What was the original price?
e.g. Paid $85 after 15% off — what was the original?
How to Calculate Discounts
Three core discount formulas cover every shopping scenario. Sale Price: Original × (1 − Discount%/100). Discount%: ((Original − Sale) / Original) × 100. Original Price: Sale / (1 − Discount%/100). This free discount calculator handles all three instantly with no mental math required.
Stacking Discounts
When two discounts stack, they don't simply add. A 20% off coupon applied after a 10% sale gives you 28% total, not 30%. Calculate them in sequence: Final = Original × 0.90 × 0.80. Always apply the bigger discount first for psychological pricing purposes, though the math result is identical.
Black Friday & Sale Season Tips
Before trusting a "X% off" label, check the item's price history — many retailers inflate original prices before sales to manufacture a bigger discount number. A 50% off sticker on a product that was marked up 50% last week isn't actually a deal. Use price tracking tools alongside this calculator to verify genuine savings.
